Error 1005 is one of the most common errors in the digital world.
Even though we do not face with it quite often, we have to be aware of what is happening when we see it.
In the last few weeks, I had been searching about the server hosting providers in order to start my own website.
I had a few options to evaluate regarding of the monthly prices, features, site speed and of course the customer support as well.
The criteria that I was looking for was almost same in these companies’ plans.
Except one significant norm — pricing strategy.
One of these million dollars of companies was offering the least amount of pricing strategy compared to others.
After changing the tabs on my computer in order to see the differences and have a better idea to choose the best option, and afterwards I also had an idea which hosting provider to choose.
However, this idea of mine have changed drastically in one day until I have faced with the error 1005.
But what the heck of this error 1005?
To be honest, even though I have been using internet for more than 16 years, I have not faced with it in real time.
I have heard of it many times before, but I have not thought about in one day I could face with it.
After researching what is Error 1005 in depth and why it occurs suddenly (especially if you are on the stage of decision), I have found some interesting facts about it.
Error 1005 is an access denied problem.
Even when you are trying to reach out the website you want to, you can see that there is a small explanation in the “what happened” box.
The box indicates that, “The owner of this website www.---.com, has banned the autonomous system number (ASN) your IP address is in (….) from accessing this website” by performance and security of Cloudflare.
Simply the explanation of this situation is according to Cloudflare and the website as far as I have understood is that “the consideration of cyberattack”.
Well, especially in 2021 the cybersecurity is more important than it used to be.
After investigations of this error, I have seen that most of the blogs and websites have explained the causes and how to fix this problem.
However, the problem here is not about trying to access to the website or be banned by them.
The problem is that because of Cloudflare protecting system or the host provider itself?
As a potential customer of both of the tech companies still trying to understand the main reason behind it.
Cloudflare is one of the most chosen and well known performance and security company especially by the host service companies.
However, according to my observations, I have realized that they do not have enough technological equipments to observe the prospects’ actions and steps.
Because, while I was just trying to compare the features among the host service providers rather than trying to harm and execute a cyberattack towards them, they just blocked me with no reason.
As we all know that, choosing the best and valuable service companies especially for a long term for our intentions and demands is not a short process.
Well, this situation also affects the host provider company in terms of revenue.
While I was trying to decide my long term plan which was going to take around 100€ per year, the chance for them to charge that amount of money is gone right now.
There are hundreds of reasons are causing the error 1005.
However, this was one of the powerful reasons for error 1005 to occur.
Some says that the problem occurs due to the low connection from the host provider company or blackout.
To be honest, this is worse than being banned from the security company.
What if I have already purchased the plan that I was thinking about and then could not reach the website?
The host service company and the security providers should think about it in depth in order to give better experiences for their potential users.
